- Work with data access technologies to create and update data extractions and related development tools used to map data structures

- Participate in peer code reviews
- Work on special projects as assigned

- Able to work independently with minimal direction and guidance to achieve goals
- Detail oriented and highly organized with strong analytical and problem solving skills

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience developing web-based applications and services in Java
- Object Oriented experience such as PHP and/or Java
- Experience with CMS tools (Wordpress, Adobe CQ5) a plus
- JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, Microsoft Visual Studio, IIS or Apache experience is a plus
- Writing effective SQL and Stored Procedures Knowledge of web development security best practices desirable

Position OverviewThis position is responsible for Thomson Reuters Lipper’s 24x7 Sybase and MSSQL database services. This requires in-depth Sybase T-SQL & database administrator skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage Thomson Reuters Lipper’s databases hosted in multiple data centers globally.
- Production database services 24 hours a day seven days a week.
- Provide database services that are highly available and reliable, as measured by mean time between failures (MTBF) and mean time to repair (MTTR).
- Apply database changes on a schedule basis.
- Install & Patch database as needed (Sybase).
- Resolve problems in a timely manner according to SLAs.
- Performance Tuning of databases (Query Tuning, Disk Tuning and system optimization).
- Application trouble shooting from the database layer. Includes T-SQL troubleshooting.
- Responsible for backup & recovery of database services.
- Knowledgeable of Sybase Security best practices.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Good English communication skills.Required Skills and Experience (must have):
- 3-5 Years of database administration experience.
- 3 years of T-SQL programming experience.
- 1-2 years of Sybase replication server experience.

Position Overview:
This position will fulfill the role of Test Automation engineer in Eikon Real Time Delivery (RTD) QA team. RTD system provides real-time data for Eikon application on desktop and mobile platform. The data will be available in both streaming and snapshot mode. Candidate is expected to mainly focus on test automation, responsible for producing automated test solutions for both functional and non-functional testing, and will work with development team, product manager and others related QA teams. This opportunity is appropriate for an experience automation engineer with good knowledge of Linux, UNIX and windows system with good understanding of computer networking.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Developing test strategy both for individual projects and across the team.
2. Undertaking all forms of functional and non-functional testing.
3. Ownership of testing for individual projects including.
4. Creating test plans creating test cases, both manual and automated.
5. Running test-cases for projects and product regression testing.
6. Test coverage and status reporting.
7. Test Summary reports for final QA sign off.
8. Good understanding of agile development and testing.
9. Utilize development skills, data manipulation skills and scripting skills to engineer technical, repeatable tests.
10. Report on testing progress and strategy and provide interpretation and insight on progress to inform management to take decisions.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline

- RFA experience
- Some development work

A motivated and self-sufficient individual is required to join the Infrastructure group which looks after Thomson Reuters' financial markets transactions products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting existing network and firewall infrastructure as well as some project work supporting new deployments. A hands-on experience of networking and firewall technologies is essential for the role, and hands on experience of VMWare technologies and storage technologies would also be highly beneficial.

Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Working within a network and storage team with the development datacentre in Nottingham, London and Hauppage, and a growing production estate. Hours of work Monday to Friday. Main tasks include configuration, management and support of Cisco (Catalyst, MDS and Nexus), firewalls (Checkpoint, ASA, Palo Alto), F5 load balancers, NetApp NAS, EMC (Clariion) environments. Support of production networks is a possibility in near future. Other responsibilities are to provide technical advice into other team members as well as business/project teams and write technical documentation where required.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

Knowledge and experience in –
- Configuration, management and support of Cisco devices (Catalyst, MDS and Nexus series) – routing and switching
- Configuration, management and support of Checkpoint and ASA/PIX firewalls

- Assist product staff with Product Requirement Specifications.
- Elaborate functional requirements for projects of high complexity. Elaboration documents will be used by development and QA teams. Such elaboration often requires high levels of detail such as field definition, data mappings and message workflows. An understanding of the system architecture and other technical details will also often need to be gained and communicated.
- Assist development and QA in understanding the functional requirements.
- Act as a point of reference for Product, Development and QA teams
- Issue revisions to functional specifications implementing suitable levels of change control.
- May be required to work using both 'waterfall' methods of definition and agile methodologies.
- Initiate and run meetings with stakeholders to ensure requirements are defined in a timely manner.
- Work without supervision from other BDAs.

Qualifications

Agile/Scrum experience is a strong plus. Experience in Load/Performance testing and/or QTP automation is strongly preferred.
